The overhauled super-heavy Tareq901 submarine and indigenous Sahand destroyer were successfully launched on Tuesday on the order of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Visiting Islamic Revolution's Army achievements exhibition on Tuesday morning, Commander in Chief Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei ordered the launching of the advanced Tareq submarine and Sahand destroyer in the southern port of Bandar Abbas.
The super-heavy Tareq 901 submarine was overhauled by experts of the Iranian Army while the Sahand destroyer was designed and manufactured by the Iranian experts.
Iranian Navy Commander Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said on May 29 that the entire overhauling process had been done by Iranian experts.
During his two-hour tour of the exhibition, Supreme Commander-in-Chief also visited army's other activities including technical, defense, combat, and scientific developments.
Expressing satisfaction of the significant progress of Iran's army at the Tuesday meeting with Iranian military commanders in the northern city of Noshahr, Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution considered "the combination of science and practice" as the most important factor in achieving the goals, and called on armed forces to give their undivided attention to this basic factor.
Ayatollah Khamenei affirmed that strong armed forces who are consistent with the goals and ideals of the Islamic Republic are the long-term objective of Iran’s armed forces.
"The ideals of the Islamic system are inclusive of all humans, but to achieve these ideals, we do not approve of invasion and aggression against the dignity of any country and nation," the Leader said.
He added that but the armed forces should be so capable that nobody can violate the strong fortress of the dear Iranian country and nation.
