Iranian rock climber Reza Alipour has exhibited impressive performance at the 2013 International Federation of Sport Climbing (ISAF) World Cup in China, and brought home a gold medal.
The Iranian sportsman took the top honor in the men's speed record category on Wednesday in a stiff competition with his Russian opponent Stanislav Kokorin.
Evgenii Vaitcekhovsk from Russia, Poland’s Marcin Dzienski, Ukrainian athletes Danylo Boldyrev and Volodymyr Zinchenko, Russian climber Dmitrii Timofeev and Aspar Jaelolo from Indonesia claimed the third to eighth place.
In the men's speed classic, Chinese climber Zhong Qixin stood in first place, and was followed by Evgenii Vaitcekhovsk, Sergei Sinitcyn and Stanislav Kokorin from Russia.
Ukrainian athlete Danylo Boldyrev, China’s Ma Zida and Zhong Lincai, and Yaroslav Gontaryk from Ukraine finished in the fifth to eighth spot.
Meanwhile, Russian athlete Yuliya Levochkina took the first place in the women's speed classic, ahead of Supita Tita from Indonesia and Russia’s Mariia Krasavina.
Aleksandra Rudzinska from Poland, Russia’s Alina Gaidamakina, Ukrainian sportswoman Alla Marenych, Iuliia Kaplina from Russia and Poland’s Monika Prokopiuk stood in the fourth to eighth place.
In the women's speed record, Alina Gaidamakina from Russia’s finished first, and was followed by Polish sportswoman Aleksandra Rudzinska and Mariia Krasavina from Russia.
Iuliia Kaplina from Russia, French climber Anouck Jaubert, Russia’s Yuliya Levochkina, Indonesian athlete Supita Tita, and Alla Marenych from Ukraine stood fourth to eighth.
The ISAF Climbing World Cup started in China’s eastern city of Haiyang on October 15, and wrapped up on October 16.
