New York, Oct 3, IRNA – Foreign Minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif briefed Iranian reporters on the last day of his stay here on outcomes of President Hassan Rouhani’s visit to New York where he addressed the 68th session of the united Nations General Assembly.
Zarif described the Iranian delegations visit to New York as positive and a proper opportunity to voice out Iran’s message of peace to the world nations.
He added the visit was also an opportunity to present Tehrans strong determination to play a constructive role in the international arenas.
The visit was a chance to largely remove some negative propaganda made against Iran during the past couple of years, said the foreign minister.
He adde a recent poll conducted in the US has showen that 75 percent of the Americans believed in diplomatic and peaceful solutions to resolve wests nuclear dispute with Iran.
Referring to the speech of the Zionist regimes Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the UNGA, Zarif said Netanyahu and other warmongers were to ruin the chance of reaching an understanding.
Iran would not let them reach their goal and meddle in the process of nuclear talks, Zarif said.
As for intensive meetings he held in New York on the sidelines of the UNGA session, Zarif said officials of other countries were enthusiastic to hear Iran’s stands on important international and regional developments.
The aim of the Israeli premier and other warmongers is not to let the talks reach breakthrough, said Zarif stressed “we don’t let them achieve their goal.”
Zarif said Tehran would continue its efforts to restore legitimate rights of the Iranian nation.
“…we insist on respect for the Iranian nation,” Zarif stressed.
Zarif arrived in New York on September 18 prior to the arrival of President Rouhani who also left NY earlier than the foreign minister on September 28.
