Bishkek agrees to ensure legal protection for Iran’s economic activities in Kyrgyzstan

TEHRAN (FNA)- Bishkek pledged on Monday to provide legal protection for Iran’s economic activities and investments in Kyrgyzstan.


The agreement was reached between Iranian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Ali Najafi and Kyrgyz Prosecutor General Aida Salyanova in a meeting in Bishkek today.

During the meeting, Najafi pointed to the considerable amount of activities and investments by Iranian businessmen in Kyrgyzstan, and reiterated the need for expanding and facilitating their activities through legal protections.

The Kyrgyz prosecutor general, for her part, pointed to the presence and activities of more than 100 Iranian companies in Kyrgyzstan, and said that the same companies play an important role in the development of Kyrgyzstan’s economy.

Salyanova pointed to her last year visit to Iran, and voiced her country’s readiness for exchange of delegations in a bid to get more familiarized with each others’ laws and regulations.

Iran has recently enhanced efforts to boost political, economic and cultural ties and cooperation with the regional and neighboring countries, specially the Central Asian states.

Iran and Kyrgyzstan have recently expanded their bilateral ties and mutual cooperation in different fields.
