Islamabad, Sept 18, IRNA - Pakistani media on Wednesday gave wide coverage to the remarks of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that flexibility is sometimes necessary in diplomacy.
‘Daily Times’ reported that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said, “Heroic flexibility is very useful and necessary sometimes but with adherence to one main condition.” Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks while talking to members of the elite Revolutionary Guards.

Daily ‘Dawn’ reported that Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said that flexibility was sometimes necessary in diplomacy as his negotiators prepared for new round of talks on his government’s nuclear drive.

The paper further said that Ayatollah Khamenei’s comments, reported by state television, came after Iran’s moderate new President Hassan Rohani, who took office last month, said the West must seize the opportunity and hold constructive dialogue with Iran.

Dailies ‘The News’, ‘The Nation’ and ‘Business Recorder’ also reported the remarks of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. “A wrestler sometimes shows flexibility for technical reasons. But he does not forget about his opponent nor about his main objective,” they said that while quoting the Supreme Leader.

The papers further said that on September 11, Iranian President Hassan Rohani said he had the tacit support of Ayatollah Khamenei for ‘flexibility’ in talks with six major powers that are expected to resume in the coming weeks.

Urdu dallies ‘Jang’ and ‘Asas’ also reported the remarks of the Supreme Leader adding that Iran’s former nuclear negotiator Hussain Mossavian had said Ayatollah Khamenei has given the task to President Hassan Rohani of holding constructive dialogue with West.
