TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian researchers have managed to reduce temptations of addicted people to methamphetamine through stimulating brain electrically for the first time in the world.
Those addicted to drugs and stimulus are suffering inevitable cravings and the temptation is seen in people addicted to methamphetamine. Craving begins unintentionally and automatically by different stimulus which leads to addiction.

The temptation is caused by internal or external factors such as people, places, objects and emotional situations.

Alireza Shahbabaei, an Iranian researcher and PhD student in Cognitive Science, called the research a 'step forward' and said the method uses direct electric current on skull and reforms brain polarity. It hardens addicted cerebral cortex and controls cerebral cortical nuclei which increases the addicted people's resistance against temptation signs of abusing drug.

He said the method is used for the first time in the world for methamphetamine. The method has been tested on 30 methamphetamine abusers and showed promising results, but needs more research.
