TEHRAN (FNA)- The Ongoing upgrading plans at Isfahan and Tabriz oil refineries will become operational in the next month, Deputy Managing-Director of the National Iranian Oil Products and Distribution Company (NIOPDC) Asghar Ramezani said.

Ramezani made the remarks during inauguration ceremony of an oil products transfer pipeline in Tehran province.

He added that currently 67 million liters of gasoline is produced at home on a daily basis of which 10 million liters is produced by petrochemical plants.

On offering euro-4 gasoline, he said a growing number of gas stations will start distribution of the product in the capital followed by raising its distribution across the country in next steps.

Ramezani denied imports of gasoline saying oil products swap is still on hold but it might be resumed in near future.

Gasoline consumption rose considerably during the week ended on September 07 hitting 81.4 million liters per day or 521.6 million liters in total.

The last days of summer vacations in the country that comes to an end in next two weeks are the main reason behind increasing gasoline consumption.
