TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani said he welcomes Japan’s investment in Iran’s industry, specially in the oil and gas sector.
Rouhani made the remarks in a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's special envoy Masahiko Kumura in Tehran last Sunday, where he expressed the hope that the meeting would be the beginning of a constructive move in boosting bilateral relations between the two countries especially in economic sector.
Presidential office website reported that Iran’s president welcomed the Japanese prime minister sent message on willingness for boosting bilateral relations.
New administration is determined to expand relations with all the friendly countries, Rouhani said.
During the meeting the president announced that all the international issues including Iran’s nuclear issue should be resolved in the framework of international regulations adding Tehran is fully committed to its international obligations including NPT treaty. He also said that all Iran’s nuclear activities were under the supervision of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Rouhani went on to say that Iran’s nuclear activities are peaceful and will remain so in the future.
Both Iran and Japan are victims of using Weapons of Mass Destruction and could be the pioneers of opposition to this kind of weapons in the world, Rouhani said.
Japanese envoy in his turn congratulated Rouhani’s election as Iran’s president welcomed expanding bilateral ties.
