TEHRAN (FNA)- Bolivian Ambassador to Tehran Jorge Rodolfo Miranda Luizaga underlined the importance of Iran for Latin America, specially Bolivia.
“The Islamic Republic is a strategic ally of Latin America, Bolivia in particular,” Luizaga said.
Luizaga pointed to the current status of Iran-Bolivia relations, and said, “US warnings issued to South American countries about Iran's influence in the region would fail to affect relations with Tehran.”
The Bolivian envoy reiterated that major Latin American nations have enhanced their diplomatic and trade ties with Iran in recent years.
Iran has been seeking to boost its ties with Latin American countries in recent years to the concern of the United States. It has expanded friendly ties with Latin America, specially in economic, trade and industrial fields.
The strong and rapidly growing ties between Iran and Latin America have raised eyebrows in the US and its western allies since Tehran and Latin nations have forged an alliance against the imperialist and colonialist powers and are striving hard to reinvigorate their relations with the other independent countries which pursue a line of policy independent from the US.
