Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani says the Islamic Republic supports Syria’s decision to join the international convention on the prohibition of chemical weapons.
Speaking at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SC) summit on Friday, the Iranian president said that any use of force in Syria must be neutralized.

Talking about Tehran’s nuclear energy program, Rouhani said that Iran remains committed to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
