TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian researchers at Tehran University have managed to produce a new type of kit capable of identifying poultry infected with flu virus.
The kit uses NSI protein immunodominant peptide and flu virus. The peptide cannot be used in western blot test because it is too small and is defused when voltage is implemented. The research has used gold nanoparticles through nanotechnology to keep the peptide on a special sheet for western blot test.
The gold nanoparticles are banded with functional groups of amino acids in peptides and prevent its diffusion when the western blot is performing. The suspicious serums could be evaluated with the anti-gene to diagnose the infection.
The results of the research could be used for identification of disease, veterinarian and separation flu-infected poultry with the vaccinated ones.
Results of the research authored by Tara Emami and her colleagues have been published in Journal of Applied Poultry Research.
