Iran, Oman discuss defense cooperation

Iran and Oman have exchanged views on ways to improve cooperation in defense sector.
The visiting Omani ruler Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said and Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan held talks in Tehran on Monday.

During the meeting, Sultan Qaboos and Dehqan discussed issues of mutual interests and leading regional and international developments.

The Omani ruler arrived in Tehran at the head of a high-ranking delegation on a three-day official visit on Sunday as the first head of state to visit Iran since Rouhani took office on August 4, 2013.

He held talks with Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and President Hassan Rouhani.

Sultan Qaboos is accompanied by top Omani officials, including Oman’s ministers of Royal Office, Diwan of Royal Court, Foreign Affairs as well as Oil and Gas, and his top advisor.
