Economy Min: Efforts aimed at decreasing dependence on oil revenues

Tehran, Aug 18, IRNA – Minister of economy and treasure said here Sunday that new government’s main orientation will be moving towards solving the past problems and decreasing dependence on oil incomes.
According to IRNA, the new Economy and Treasure Minister Ali Tayyebnia who was speaking to the press reporters at the end of the 11th governments 1st cabinet meeting also briefed them on the cash subsidies and the associated problems with them.

“Presently, the cash subsidies payments are faced with financial balance problems, and we are facing difficulties regarding the assets from which we have to pay from them, said Tayyebnia.

He said that the government intends to present the Parliament an amendment to the subsidies law aimed at solving that problem.

The economy minister added, “We also intend to remain committed to paying the subsidies allocated to the health and industrial sectors.”
