Supreme Leader stresses role of scientific growth in Iran’s progress

Supreme Leader made the remarks in a meeting with hundreds of faculty members and researchers who were received by Ayatollah Khamenei to discuss their viewpoints with their leader on different issues, especially scientific and academic topics.
Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the scientific progress is very important for the country and Islamic Republic system, reiterating that even the accredited information dissemination centers of the world have acknowledged Iran’s scientific growth despite having a negative outlook about Iran.

The Supreme Leader pointed to facts and figures released by international statistical centers, saying that according to this statistics, the country’s scientific achievement have seen a 16 times growth as compared with the period before that and the rate of scientific growth in Iran is 13 times more than the world’s average growth rate.

He noted that the international statistics centers have reiterated that if Iran continues to make scientific progress at the current rate, it will attain the fourth place in the world within next five years.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that if “we also come to know considerable development of the country’s universities such as considerable growth in the number of university students and professors besides the rate of the scientific progress, we will better understand the valuable position of scientific and university achievements after the 1979 Islamic Revolution”.
