6 Aug 2013 - 18:26

Iranian First Vice President Es'haq Jahangiri says the Islamic Republic welcomes enhancement of economic and trade ties with Ghana.
In a meeting with Ghanaian Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur in Tehran on Monday, Jahangiri said the planned Iran-Ghana Joint Economic Cooperation Commission will be a proper venue for removing obstacles to economic cooperation between the two countries.
“I hope this committee will be established on schedule, and it could be a step towards formulating strategies for boosting ties and broadening economic cooperation between Iran and Ghana,” Jahangiri stated.
Amissah-Arthur, for his part, praised the existing good relations between Ghana and Iran.

He said a large number of Iranian businessmen are currently active in Ghana, adding that Accra favors expansion of relations with Iran in different sectors.

He expressed hope that the Iran-Ghana joint cooperation commission will soon be established and hold its meeting in Tehran.
