The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) intelligence forces have arrested members of a network involved in collecting information about sensitive facilities in Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan province for a foreign spy agency.
According to The Iran Project, In a statement released on Friday night, the IRGC announced that it arrested the individuals on charges of affiliation to the spy agency of a Persian Gulf country, and handed them over to judicial authorities for legal action.
Last month, the IRGC said it arrested an individual in Iran’s northwestern province of Ardabil on charges of affiliation to the spy agency of a neighboring country.
In late October, Iran’s Intelligence Ministry said it dismantled a separatist group linked to the Israeli regime that intended to infiltrate the country from the Iraqi Kurdistan in order to incite street riots and carry out assassinations.
During the operation, one of the main members of the group was killed, two others were arrested, and their weapons were confiscated.
