The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) intelligence forces have arrested an individual in Iran’s northwestern province of Ardabil on charges of affiliation to the spy agency of a neighboring country.
According to The Iran Project, In a statement released on Thursday, the IRGC announced that servicemen from the provincial Hazrat Abbas base captured the person, whose identity was not immediately available, following a technical and surveillance operation, and handed him over to judicial authorities for legal action.
Over the past few years, Iran’s security forces have dismantled many foreign-backed terror outfits along its borders.
Last week, IRGC intelligence forces identified and dismantled a team of Takfiri terrorists in Iran’s western province of Kermanshah.
