Dariush Ghazbani scoops award at Spanish film festival

Iranian filmmaker Dariush Ghazbani has been named as the winner at the 8th Mas Sorrer International Short Film Festival in Barcelona, Spain.
Ghazbani beats other competitors and received the Best Director Award of the festival for his screen creation Hannaneh.

Produced by the Sacred Defense Cinema Association the movie depicts a story on the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war.

Written by Mehdi Ansari, Hannaneh narrates the story of an Iranian couple Abbas and Zainab who are fleeing the city of Khorramshahr which is invaded by Iraqi troops.

On their way, they confronted by a pregnant Arab woman and her young daughter, then the film features the couple’s efforts for saving the mother and her kid.

Hamed Siami’s The Tree was another Iranian representative at the year’s Spanish festival.
