Iranian law enforcement forces have arrested three members of the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group in the country’s northern province of Mazandaran, thwarting their plot to carry out an act of terror.

According to The Iran Project, the police chief of Nowshahr said on Saturday that the militants were planning to commit a terrorist attack against a popular tourist spot in the northern city.

He added that the terrorists were detected and captured following timely measures by Nowshahr police forces.

Earlier this year, Iranian intelligence forces captured 14 members of the Daesh terrorist group in four provinces across the country.
