Iran has once again reiterated its support for the resistance front in Palestine, saying it is trying to prevent the expansion of tensions in the region.

According to The Iran Project, Iran's Interim Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani made the remark in a meeting with Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib in New York on Wednesday on the sidelines of two United Nations Security Council meetings.

He said Lebanon plays a key role in promoting stability in the region and stressed the importance of holding more talks with Lebanese authorities.

The Islamic Republic strongly supports the promotion of stability and security in Lebanon, he emphasized.

Bagheri Kani said Palestinians are the "real owners" of Palestine and they are the ones who should make a decision about their land and future.

The top Iranian diplomat emphasized the immediate need for prevention of the continuation of the Israeli regime's crimes and attacks against the oppressed people of Gaza.

Bagheri Kani warned that expansion of the Israeli regime's attacks is the cause of escalating crisis in the region.

Muslim countries should make the Israeli regime regret posing any threat to Lebanon, he pointed out.
