The fifth and final day of registration of candidates running for the 14th term of Iran’s presidential election began at 8:00 a.m. local time (4:30 GMT) on Monday morning.
According to The Iran Project, Eshagh Jahangiri, Iran’s vice president under former president Hassan Rouhani, registered for the vote on Monday.
Moreover, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, parliament speaker, registered as a possible candidate in the Islamic Republic’s June 28 presidential election today.
Other notable figures who registered on Monday include former lawmakers Elias Naderan, Hassan Sobhani, Hassan Kamran Dastjerdi, and Vahid Jalalzadeh.
Iran will hold presidential elections on June 28, following the death of President Ebrahim Raisi and his entourage in a helicopter crash in May.
