Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian says that consultations are underway for improving the relations between Tehran and Cairo.

According to The Iran Project, the top Iranian diplomat made the remarks in an X post after the third Iranian-Arab Dialogue Conference dubbed "For Cooperation and Interaction” in Tehran on Sunday.

"Iran is determined to promote and deepen understanding and empathy between the countries of the region," he said, adding that the Iranian government's decisive approach in highlighting the neighborhood policy is aimed at understanding this fundamental point.

Referring to the strategy of the Islamic Republic of Iran on maintaining sustainable development and security, convergence, and regional cooperation, the Iranian foreign minister stressed that the nuclear disarmament of the Zionist regime is necessary for the complete realization of peace, stability, and security in West Asia.

He further stressed that within the framework of the agreement reached between the presidents of Iran and Egypt, Tehran and Cairo have negotiations on improving relations between the two states.

"We have taken joint steps and will continue this right path together," Amir-Abdollahian added.

Iran's strategic approach to regional dialogues and cooperation includes a wide range of countries in the Islamic and Arab world, including Egypt, he concluded.
