Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi has congratulated the Emir of Kuwait on the country’s National Day, expressing hope that ties between the two sides are further expanded in light of efforts by Iranian and Kuwaiti officials.

According to The Iran Project,Raisi sent his congratulatory message to Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Saturday, also felicitating the people of the Arab country on the occasion that falls on February 25.

The Iranian president also said in his message that the neighboring countries of Iran and Kuwait have deep relations and have been supporting each other in the face of challenges over the time.  

The Kuwait National Day, which is a special holiday, is celebrated on February 25 every year. It marks the day when Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah became the ruler of Kuwait in 1950. During his reign, Kuwait gained independence from Britian, and formally established its Constitution and parliament.
