Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has underlined the significance of ensuring “strategic security” in the Caucasus region.
According to The Iran Project,The president made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran on Thursday with Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.
He reiterated Tehran’s support for peace talks between Yerevan and Baku, stressing Iran’s opposition to the presence of foreigners in the region under the pretext of helping solve the problems.
Raisi believed that foreigners will not solve any problems and will rather be a bigger problem for the regional countries and nations.
He once again noted that Tehran favors the full implementation of agreements already signed between the two countries.
The Armenian official, for his part, hailed Iran’s support for his country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Grigoryan said that Yerevan is willing to give a more boost to economic and trade relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, particularly in the area of energy and transit.
