Iran's football team managed to beat Japan 2-1 in the 2023 AFC Asian Cup quarterfinals, earning their spot in the final four.

According to The Iran Project, Iran's National football team beat Japan 2-1 to qualify for the round of 4 in the Asian Cup quarterfinal on Saturday.

Iran faced Japan in the third quarterfinal of the AFC Asian Cup 2023 at Qatar's Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan.

Mohammad Mohebbi equalized the match in the 55th minute after receiving a superb pass from Sardar Azmoun.

In the added time, Captain Alireza Jahanbakhsh scores the winning penalty for Iran in the extra time. Mohebi had equalized against Japan.

Iran will play the winners of Qatar and Uzbekistan in the semifinals on Tuesday.
