Russia’s foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has hailed her country’s growing ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran and North Korea, saying these don’t violate Moscow’s international obligations.

According to The Iran Project,"We are developing our relations bilaterally and based on mutual respect," Zakharova was quoted by Tass news agency.

She emphasized that these relationships are beneficial for both parties and that Russia does not violate any international obligations in its interaction with Tehran and Pyongyang.

“How and why we do something in relations with other countries is entirely up to us”, the spokeswoman underlined, rejecting as baseless the accusations of Western countries that military-technical cooperation between Russia and North Korea is illegal.

Zakharova has repeatedly rejected the western accusations of her country’s growing ties with Iran and North Korea.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov rejected Washington's claims that Pyongyang is providing Moscow with military assistance.

Russia and Iran have also repeatedly denied claims that Iran is supplying Russia with drones to use them in its military offensive against Ukraine.

Iran repeatedly emphasized that Iran had provided a small number of drones to Russia much before the Ukraine conflict broke up.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also called such reports fake and said that the Russian military uses domestically produced drones against enemy targets.
