Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi said Wednesday that the identity of the suicide bombers behind the terrorist attack in Kerman has been determined.
According to The Iran Project,“One of the suicide bombers was Tajik and the second one was most likely also Tajik,” Vahidi told reporters on the sideline of a weekly cabinet session in Tehran.
“Some elements linked to this incident have been arrested, while their equipment have also been discovered by security agencies,” he said.
He further pointed out that Iran’s enemies and terrorist groups try very hard to harm the country.
“We have dealt with them firmly, and the security and law enforcement agencies are active and powerful” in this regard, Vahidi added.
Ninety-three people were killed and more than 280 others injured last Wednesday when two suicide bombers detonated their explosives near the burial site of Iran’s top anti-terror commander General Qassem Soleimani in Kerman, where a large crowd of people had gathered to mark his fourth martyrdom anniversary.
