An official with Iran’s Renewable Energy Organization says the country's first solar town will be launched in Buin Zahra.

According to The Iran Project, Jafar Mohammad Nejad Sigaroudi made the remarks in an interview with Radio Eghtesad regarding the existing methods for the development of power plants.

We have announced several different methods for the scale of renewable power plants, he noted.

For example, in the matter of the solar power plant, we recently conducted a tender for large capacities, which investors with special financial and technical capabilities should have entered, he said.

So that after the end of the tender, they can establish the power plant to meet the country's electricity needs, the official added.

Since the development of renewable power plants is not possible with only one model, we formulated and announced different methods for people, and investors, he said.

Based on the studies conducted, for the first time, the organization called on investors to participate in setting up a solar town in Buin Zahra region in Qazvin, he asserted.

With the arrangements made in Buin Zahra, natural or legal persons are going to build a 3-megawatt power plant, he concluded.
