Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has announced that Iran is taking “immediate legal and international actions” through the United Nations over the terror attacks in Kerman that left dozens of people dead.

According to The Iran Project,“Based on preliminary information from official sources, this ministry has initiated immediate legal and international actions through the United Nations regarding the terrorist attack in Kerman,” Amirabdollahian said in a statement posted on X on Thursday.

Two devastating bomb blasts targeted a ceremony commemorating the fourth martyrdom anniversary of Iran’s top commander General Qassem Soleimani near his burial site in Kerman on Wednesday, killing at least 84 people.

Kazem Gharibabadi, vice-president of the Judiciary for international affairs, also said on Thursday that a judicial case has been opened and that legal proceedings will begin as soon as the perpetrators of the attacks have been identified.

“The Islamic Republic has always been a victim of terrorism, and from the beginning of the Islamic Revolution until now, more than 23,000 innocent Iranians have been martyred due to terrorism,” he said.

He further noted that the head of the Judiciary has issued an order to pursue the terrorist attacks through legal channels.

“If the perpetrators of this terrorist incident are outside the country, which most of them are, we will pursue the extradition of the perpetrators within the framework of judicial cooperation,” Gharibabadi said.
