Iran inks MoU to construct 15,000 housing units in Khuzestan

The Director General of Roads and Urban Development of Khuzestan says a bilateral memorandum of understanding was signed between the province’s Road and Urban Development Department and Sakaf Company for the construction of 15,000 housing units.


According to The Iran Project, talking to ISNA reporter, Masoud Bayatmanesh stated, “In line with the implementation of the national housing movement plan in Khuzestan province, a bilateral memorandum of understanding for the construction of 15,000 residential units was concluded between Khuzestan Road and Urban Development Department and Sakaf Company.”
 
In the first phase of this agreement, the land required for the construction of 1,420 residential units in Mahshahr city was delivered to this company for the construction of houses, he noted.
 
He went on to say that this company is supposed to build a total of 15,000 housing units throughout the province.
 
This company managed to get high ratings in the evaluations and participated in the construction of Khuzestan National Housing Movement projects, he added.
 
These units are supposed to be built by this company with a reasonable price and good quality in a shorter time, the deputy minister stressed.
 
He then announced the 30% physical progress of the national housing movement in Khuzestan, adding that 12,000 housing units are currently under construction in this province.
 
Pointing to the provision of supportive housing land for 86,000 people in this province, he said, “So far, 95% of the land required for construction in the cities of the province has been provided.”
