The head of the Trade Development Organization says 8000 automobiles have entered the country so far that would be sold through the car sales system.
According to The Iran Project, Mehdi Zeighami made the remarks while talking to Tasnim reporter on Wednesday.
Currently, about 22,000 people are enrolled in the imported car sales system as applicants for buying these cars. Also, about 7500 applicants have chosen their imported car through the system, he stated.
So far, more than 8400 cars of different brands have been offered in the mentioned system, the official noted.
Zeighami went on to say that this is while a total of more than 8000 vehicles have entered the country's ports. It should also be emphasized that out of this number, about 4,500 vehicles have been discharged from various customs.
In response to some rumors about not supplying cars by some importers despite obtaining a license, he said, “Registration, allocation, and supply of foreign currency are the main stages of the import process, but until the car arrival in the country, it will not be offered on the sales system.”
Based on this, all supplies are proportional to the cars available in the ports and customs, he added.
This is while recently in a part of this process, a facility has been provided to cars related to famous brands that are on the sea route to enter the country should also be offered in the sales system, he underlined.
