Iranian chess grandmaster Mohammad Amin Tabatabaei secured the runner-up position in the 2023 London Chess Classic.
According to The Iran Project,In the ninth and final round of the competition, Tabatabaei, with a rating of 2692, drew with his French opponent Jules Moussard with a rating of 2635 to reach to the second position in the sporting event.
Previously, Tabatabaei drew with his American opponent Hans Niemann with a rating of 2667, defeated his opponent from England Nikita Vitiugov with a rating of 2704, and shared the spoils with his Indian opponent Gukesh Dommaraju with a rating of 2720.
The 13th edition of the London Chess Classic was held in London, England from December 1-10 as a 10-player single round-robin with classical time control.
