The Iran Project - Cristiano Ronaldo, the renowned Portuguese football star, landed in Tehran alongside his teammates from Saudi Arabia's Al-Nasr n preparation for their AFC Champions League match against Iran's Persepolis, scheduled for Tuesday.
Persepolis and Al-Nasr match is part of the AFC Champions League tournament and will take place at Tehran's Azadi Stadium.
Upon their arrival at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran, the Al-Nasr team was greeted by the Saudi ambassador and Persepolis manager Reza Darvish.
Ronaldo also received a warm welcome from his Iranian fans.
Moreover, in a special ceremony, Darvish and other officials from Persepolis FC presented Ronaldo with a valuable Persian rug as a gift.
The 38-year-old Portuguese superstar, one of the most decorated players in history, joined Al-Nassr in December 2022, reportedly earning $200 million annually.
Ronaldo boasts more than 30 major trophies and holds the world's record men's international goalscorer title, a distinction he secured in 2021, surpassing Iran's Ali Daei.
