Iranian, Turkish FMs meet in Tehran, discuss range of issues

The Iran Project - The Iranian and Turkish foreign ministers held a meeting in Tehran, where they discussed various important topics of mutual interest, regional issues, and international developments.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian hosted his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, in the Iranian capital on Sunday.

This visit marks the first time Fidan, Turkey's foreign minister, has visited Tehran since assuming office in June.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry stated that the purpose of the visit is to explore opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation in all areas with Iran and to exchange perspectives on current regional and international events.

During his visit, the top Turkish diplomat is to sit down with several other Iranian officials, as well.

Hakan Fidan became Turkiye’s foreign minister, replacing Mevlüt Çavu?o?lu, after Erdogan won another term in office in a close competition with the opposition candidate Kemal K?l?çdaro?lu.

Erdogan took the oath of office at the parliament building in Ankara on Saturday, June 3, extending his administration into the third decade.

It Should be noted that Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro were among foreign dignitaries taking part in his swearing-in ceremony.
