Tasnim – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian nation in the struggle with the Zionist regime.
In a telephone conversation on Saturday evening, Zarif and Foreign Minister of the Palestinian National Authority Riyad al-Maliki discussed the latest regional developments.
Zarif underlined that Iran will keep supporting the great Palestinian nation’s struggle for the restoration of their rights.
He also stressed the need for unity among the Palestinian people and groups.
For his part, Maliki praised the Islamic Republic’s backing for people of Palestine, saying the Palestinian leaders and nation are determined to defend their rights.
The Palestinian people and officials of various groups have joined hands and are resolved to liberate the Palestinian territories from the Zionist regime’s occupation, he stressed.
Iranian officials have expressed full support for Palestine after a recent agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Israel on the establishment of diplomatic relations.
On Saturday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani lashed out at the UAE for the grave mistake of striking a deal with Israel on normalization of ties, warning the UAE about the consequences of allowing the Zionist regime to gain a foothold in the region.
