IRNA - An earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale rocked the city of Firuzkuh north-west of capital Tehran on Sunday.
According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the earthquake occurred at 11:49 hours local time (08:19 GMT) and at the depth of 7 km underground.
The epicenter of the quake was located at 52.61 degrees longitude and 35.63 degrees latitude.
No report has so far been released on the likely casualties or damage to the property.
Iran sits on major fault lines and is prone to near-daily earthquakes.
