Tasnim – Foreign Minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif held talks with his Turkish and Qatari counterparts on the latest political situation in Afghanistan and ways for collective action against the novel coronavirus.
The top Iranian diplomat on Monday held separate telephone conversations with Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu and Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the deputy prime minister and the minister of foreign affairs of Qatar.
The conversations revolved around the latest political developments in Afghanistan, particularly the peace process in that country.
Zarif and his Turkish and Qatari counterparts also discussed the regional and international status of the novel coronavirus outbreak, and weighed plans for collective measures to contain the disease.
Last week, the Iranian foreign minister voiced Tehran’s readiness to provide Turkey with whatever assistance and cooperation necessary in the fight against COVID-19.
