Financial Tribune - The execution phase of Chabahar Airport Development Project in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan started on Thursday, with Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami and other government official in attendance.
“The airport town of Chabahar will be built on a 2,815-hectare plot in the northern part of Chabahar Free Zone,” Abdolrahim Kordi, the director of Chabahar Free Zone Organization said.
Phase I of Chabahar International Airport will be carried out by Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters with an estimated investment of 5,500 billion rials ($42.47 million) from resources provided by Chabahar Free Zone Organization, ISNA reported.
“Plans are to finalize Phase I of Chabahar Airport Development Project over 13,000 meters in 24 months, with a capacity to handle 817,600 passengers annually,” Kordi said.
