Financial Tribune - Close to 140,000 tons of kiwis worth $97 million were exported from Iran in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2019), deputy agriculture minister for horticultural affairs said.
“With around 12,400 hectares under cultivation and more than 362,000 tons of harvest per year, Iran is considered the world’s fourth biggest kiwi producer,” Mohammad Ali Tahmasebi was also quoted as saying by ILNA.
Iraq, Afghanistan and Central Asian Countries are traditional customers of Iranian kiwis.
Mazandaran Province, located along the Caspian Sea coastline, is the country’s biggest producer of the fruit.
