Oil prices jump following suspected attacks on two oil tankers in Sea of Oman

Press TV - Crude oil futures have jumped on Thursday following reports of explosions targeting two oil tankers in the Sea of Oman.

Benchmark Brent crude oil rises 4% in trading to over $62 a barrel after the incident, Bloomberg reported.

Reuters, citing four shipping and trade sources, said two tankers — identified as the Marshal Islands-flagged Front Altair and the Panama-flagged Kokuka — had been hit in suspected attacks in the Gulf of Oman, and that the crew had been evacuate from the vessels.
