New products, IKCO strategy towards more market share

TEHRAN (FNA)- Improving the quality of current products and design and development of new cars make IKCO's main strategy to gain more domestic and international market share, a vice-president of the car-making company said.


"Establishing the largest and best equipped R&D center of the Middle East by IKCO shows the special attention of the company to the improvement of the quality of existing cars and designing new ones," IKCO's Vice-President for Products and Quality Mir Javad Soleimani said.

"In addition to car design know-how, IKCO enjoys best equipped labs and automotive test facilities in the Middle East and aims to introduce its brand," he added.

Soleimani pointed out the importance of research and development, and emphasized that the success and development of carmakers depend on presenting high quality modern cars based on the clients' preferences.

He said he believes that this would not happen, but by investing in R&D.

Referring to the key role of skillful and professional manpower in design and development of products, Soleimani said that IKCO has experienced a rapidly increasing development in this field in recent years.

After Samand, IKCO introduced and marketed its second self-developed car, Runna that would be followed by another IKCO brand car, Dena, this year.

To conclude his remarks, the IKCO vice-president restated that the company has allocated three present of its total sale to research and development and has run more than 40 research projects in products and powertrain.
