Iran boasts improved security on eastern borders

IRNA - Iran says the situation on the country's eastern borders have improved.

'The security situation in the east has improved compared to the situation of 11 years ago (2008),' Interior Minister Abdulreza Rahmani Fazli told lawmakers on Tuesday.

He was responding floor questions about the government's efforts to improve the living conditions of the villagers who live in yellow security zone near the eastern borders.

Iran shares 921 kilometers of land border with Afghanistan. The Iranian border with Pakistan is 959 km long.
