IRNA – Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy commission said on Saturday that British Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s recent statement claiming that Iran is insecure for the foreign nationals and dual nationals indicates insincerity of the country’s government.
“Iranians have on several occasions announced that Islamic affection is the criterion for treating foreign nationals and dual nationals and it has also voiced readiness for interaction with the world over the individuals,” he said, noting that Iran’s judicial apparatus acts independently and irrespective of political affairs.
British officials are seeking to create an anti-Iran atmosphere and they are politicking against Iran, despite the fact they have occasionally adopted friendly stances, he said, noting that certain western states’ propaganda against Iran’s security and independence and misrepresenting the situation in Iran, which is a secure and stable country in the region.
British Foreign and Commonwealth Office in a recent statement called on the dual nationals to avoid trips to Iran due to possibility of being arrested.
In reaction, Iran’s Ambassador to London Hamid Baeidinejad said on Friday that the British-Iranian nationals can visit Iran without concern, if they do not collect information for intelligence services.
