IRNA – Military parades held to mark the National Army Day will not be held in Iranian flood-stricken areas this year so that the army forces can continue with providing relief to flood affected people, Iranian Army Commander said on Friday.
Brigadier-General Abrolrahim Mousavi said that as Iran is witnessing flooding in different areas across the country and the people are struggling with flood-related damages, the Army will stage “parade of services” in the flood-hit areas and provinces this year.
Iran’s National Army Day is celebrated annually on April 18.
Devastating floods which followed unprecedented rainfalls in Iranian northern, western and southwestern provinces killed at least 71 people, leaving many others displaced.
