IRNA – Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman described as machinations the US recent move to blacklist the IRGC, saying solving regional problems will not be possible without Iran’s participation.
Addressing the weekly press conference, Maria Vladimirovna Zakharova said designating the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) which is an official force, is in line with promoting machinations.
She described the recent US act as continuation of Washington’s efforts against Iran, including pulling out of Iran nuclear deal otherwise known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and imposing unilateral sanctions.
Stressing that US anti-Iran choice is a destructive and unwise measure, she reiterated that solving problems in the Middle East will not be possible in the absence of Iran.
US President Donald Trump last Monday officially labeled IRGC, a part of Iran's Armed Forces, a terrorist organization.
This is while, the Iranian forces in coordination with the governments of Iraq and Syria have played a military advisory role in fighting the terrorist group in both countries.
Iraq officially announced the defeat of Daesh in 2017, while Syria has managed to retake most of the fallen areas from the terrorists.
The latest anti-Iran move of Trump received fierce reactions from the Iranian officials. The country's Foreign Minister Javad Zarif in a letter to President Hassan Rouhani called for a retaliatory move by labeling the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) as a terrorist organization and the US government as a terrorist sponsor.
