Bolstering Iran-China economic ties serving global interest

IRNA – Iran and China's economies are complementary to each other thus strengthening the cooperation between the two countries is going to serve the interests of both the two, the entire region and world, Chinese minister of commerce said Tuesday.

China's Commerce Minister Zhong Shan said that holding the Iran-China joint economic commission is in line with the agreement of the two countries' presidents reached at previous meetings.

'Iran is China's strategic partner in the Middle East, and China is the biggest trade partner and the main importer of Iranian oil,' he said.

Shan also expressed hope that the commission will prompt further strategic relations between Tehran and Beijing.

The seventeenth joint economic commission of Iran and China, held in Beijing, was attended by the two countries' ministers of economy.

The previous joint economic commission of Iran and china was held in Tehran.

On the sidelines of the meeting, two memoranda of understanding were signed by authorities of Iran and China chambers of commerce, and China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Medicines and Health Products.
