The Zionist regime of Israel raises baseless allegations against Iran’s nuclear energy program to scare Israeli citizens and serve its own domestic political goals, an analyst says.
“…[Benjamin] Netanyahu is using that [Iran's] nuclear issue to threaten Israelis by making them fear the nuclear Iranian [energy] program for his own political purposes,” George Labaki, a professor at Notre Dame University said in an interview with Press TV on Friday.

The analyst noted that Western countries will not heed the recent calls by the Israeli premier to take a more aggressive stance on Iran’s nuclear energy program, “because the US and the EU have expressed their commitment to work with the new Iranian [president] to try to find a peaceful settlement for the Iranian nuclear [energy] program….”

Labaki stated that the US and the EU are trying to find a peaceful solution for the Iranian nuclear issue, “because neither Europe, nor the United States are ready for a military confrontation.”

Earlier in the week, the hawkish Israeli premier urged the world not to "be tempted to ease pressure on Iran," following the massive voter turnout in Iran’s presidential election on June 14.

In his first press conference on Wednesday, Iranian president-elect Hassan Rohani said, “Iran’s nuclear [energy] program are completely transparent,” but it is “ready to show more transparency and make clear for the whole world that the measures taken by the Islamic Republic of Iran are completely within international frameworks.”

The United States, the Israeli regime and some of their allies have repeatedly accused Iran of pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.

Tehran strongly rejects the allegation over its nuclear energy activities, maintaining that as a committed signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), it has the right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
