President.ir - President described relations between Iran and India developing in all fields and stressed that Tehran welcomes further development of these relations in all fields of mutual interest.
Speaking with the new Ambassador of India to Tehran on Saturday while receiving his letter of credence, Dr Hassan Rouhani said, “The effects of cooperation between the two nations are clear everywhere in Iran and India”.
“Our mission is to sustain the strong relations between the two nations that have been there throughout the history,” said Rouhani.
He referred to the achievements of the latest visit of the Indian Prime Minister to Tehran and added, “The agreements made about Chabahar, and those about the tripartite agreements of Iran, Afghanistan, and India, were very significant”
The President also went on to state that Chabahar has now become the symbol of growing ties between Tehran and New Delhi.
Dr Rouhani described continuation of cooperation among all countries of the region in fighting terrorism as imperative and expressed hope that New Delhi and Islamabad always take steps towards peace and friendly relations as two important regional neighbours.
Iran is ready to develop its relations with India in combatting terrorism and creating stability in the region.
The new Ambassador of India to Tehran Gaddam Dharmendra also presented his letter of credence to President Rouhani and said that New Delhi is willing to further deepen ties with Tehran in all fields of mutual interest.
He continued, “The joint projects with Iran have had good progress and using the national currencies of the two countries has facilitated this cooperation”.
