IRNA – A senior Iranian lawmaker underlined pursuing release of the border guards, kidnapped at the border crossing point in Mirjaveh, near Pakistan border in October.

'According to the latest information, we obtained, the Iranian soldiers are healthy and alive,' Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh said on Sunday.

He made the remarks in an exclusive interview with Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

'We are pursuing the release of these soldiers through various channels and we hope to reach a conclusion as soon as possible,' the lawmaker added.

On October 16, a number of border guards were kidnapped by Jeish al-Adl militant group at the border crossing point in Mirjaveh, southeast of the country, and were transferred to Pakistan.

Five of these border guards were released on November 15, following the Pakistani government's effort and were handed over to Iran, but the rest of the border guards are still being held by the terrorist group.
