IRNA - Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan of Brunei in a message congratulated the 40th anniversary of Iran Islamic Revolution, Brunei media ' Borneo Bulletin' reported.


In his message to the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani which was released on Monday, Bolkiah expressed happiness over warm and friendly ties between Iran and Brunei.

He also hoped for both countries to reinforce bilateral and all-out cooperation in the future.

According to Borneo Bulletin', Bolkiah wished health and happiness for President Rouhani and development and welfare for Iranians.

People all across Iran would commemorate the 40th anniversary of their Islamic Revolution on Monday by pouring into streets and taking part in rallies.

The day of the late Imam Khomeini’s return to Iran from exile (Feb 1, 1979) marks the beginning of the Ten-Day Dawn during which ceremonies are held which culminate with the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on February 11, 1979.

Iranian people toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 39 years ago, ending 2,500 years of absolute monarchy in the country.
